During May 2003, I spent a month in the town of Westport, County Mayo
on the west coast of Ireland. During that time I developed an eavesdropping
project. The bits of conversation that were overheard were transferred
to tiny scrolls that were then reinserted into public spaces in the town.
One main location that I utilized was a mile long stone wall that ran
from one end of the town to the other.
For the accompanying exhibition, I enlarged each of the clips and hung
them on two sections of wall in the gallery.
